Al Nichols Engineering, Inc. Live and Work Facility Virtual Tour |

The Street-side entrance is decorated with foliage fed from ANE's grey water collection system. The use of grey water (mostly city re-claimed) in Civano has helped cut the use of potable water in our community by 60% when compared to other Tucson communities! |
Located across from the Civano Neighborhood Community Center in a multi-use zoning area of the development, ANE's offices are in the center of this walking community designed to help cut vehicular transportation needs in half. |
Inside, our offices are permitted to employ 6 individuals. A nice mix of day-lighting and low energy use fixtures create a comfortable and productive work environment. Our offices require roughly 1/3rd the electricity to illuminate in comparison to traditionally lighted offices. |
Using an ultra quiet SEER 13 heat pump and a 350 cfm outside air unit keeps our employees healthy and breathing easy. The use of a windup timer linked to the thermostat has proven to be an extremely cost effective way to reduce consumption and unnecessary waste. |
The downstairs portion of our Live and Work facility is currently an Engineering Consulting Office, but it could be transformed into living space or a downstairs duplex. Though Mr. Nichols will probably work forever, he will have the option for retirement income from this space for time to come. |
